Founder & President’s Message

I want to welcome you to the Pearls of Ruth Foundation, Inc.  In April 2016, I had a vision. “And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:2-3).” Thus the foundation was birthed through my obedience of organizing a luncheon for other women who had lost their mothers.

A small group of women joined together and agreed there was an urgent need for a nonprofit organization dedicated to families and individuals affected by the loss of the “matriarch” of the family.  The comprised members are private citizens and educators from diverse backgrounds and expertise who all share in the purpose and vision of the foundation.

The purpose of the luncheon was to celebrate the life, legacy, and love of our mothers.  It was an opportunity for a circle of sisters to inspire, encourage, and uplift each other.

After sharing with the ladies my goal of establishing a scholarship for a high school graduating female, it ignited an instant excitement.  We are passionate and committed to restoring hope in families.  The foundation harnesses the strength of women and puts that power to work for others. Each of us have our own story and journey of healing after the loss of our mother. It has propelled us to “Remember there is a purpose in everything that God does, even when we don’t see it.”

When my mother passed in 2014, it left an emptiness within. It caused me to reflect back to my early years as a teacher when three of my 6th grade students lost their mothers.  I could never imagine as a child losing my mother. Today, because many others have shared a common vision, we have begun the Pearls of Ruth Foundation to provide scholarships for a graduating female senior who has lost her mother as well as provide some support to other families who have lost the matriarch of their family. We encourage you to join our efforts by becoming involved in Pearls of Ruth, whether it is as a member, donor, or volunteer. Welcome to the Pearls of Ruth and thank you for your interest.  Families and students will be able to rebuild and strengthen due to your support. As the president and founder, I am honored to serve this organization and its members.
